How long does it take for a financial gift to reach my sponsored child?

Financial gifts take time to transfer and process, so please allow two to four months for your gift to reach your child. If you are planning to send a birthday gift, we recommend that you send your gift three months before your child's birthday, so our project workers have time to choose something really special with your child.

Once your gift has been received and your sponsored child has chosen what to purchase, they will write a thank you letter and let you know what they’ve bought. Where possible, we’ll try to include a photograph, so you can see how your money has been used. This acknowledgement may come up to six months after you sent your financial gift, but please know that your child and their family will be very grateful for your generosity and will really enjoy choosing a special gift. If you are concerned that your sponsored child has not received your gift ago, please contact us. If you’ve given us your email, we’ll send you a reminder three months before your sponsored child’s birthday, so you have time to send a gift.
