The heavy rains in Montería, Colombia have now stopped. However, stagnant water and mosquitos remain a threat to those returning to their homes.
In total 67 Compassion-supported children are affected and our church partners have received support from the field office to provide basic elements to affected children and their families.
Please pray that our beneficiaries will remain healthy and be able to avoid mosquito-borne illnesses.
Over the last week an additional 56 sponsored children are confirmed to be affected, taking the total now to 65 Compassion-supported children. The heavy rains have continued and several child sponsored homes have been flooded.
The church partners staff continue to visit families as they discover more affected children. Due to the stagnant water and wet conditions, there are many mosquitos and possibility of illness so they are watching the health of the children closely.
