Pray for Pamela’s ongoing battle
Four years ago, 19-year-old Pamela was diagnosed with a brain tumour. After she complained of severe headaches at her annual health check-up at her Compassion project, staff quickly sent her for further tests at the hospital.
During this time, the situation became critical. This courageous Ghanaian teenager lost the ability to speak and talk.
Surgeons were hesitant to carry out the surgery she needed because scans showed her tumour was in a delicate and critical part of the brain. They gave her a 50 per cent chance of surviving the operation.
Instead, they started Pamela on a course of medication. During the years since, she’s done remarkably well. Pamela has recovered some of her movement and she’s successfully completed junior high school.
“I have a good relationship with Jesus because I know He loves me,” Pamela says. “I suffered a great deal when this sickness started. I felt so much pain and strange and frightening things when I was in the hospital bed. I thought I was going to die, but Jesus kept me because He knows what He has for me.”

- Lift up Pamela’s mum Margaret who is a single mum of five. Margaret works long hours working as a housekeeper as well as caring for her family.
- Pray for Pamela as she starts senior high secondary school. Ask for strength to continue with her studies despite the challenges she faces.
